Herb Denenberg

Herb Denenberg (November 20, 1929 – March 18, 2010) was a television consumer advocate and newspaper columnist since the mid-1970s. He was best known as an investigative reporter for the CBS and NBC affiliates in Philadelphia. He also served as Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner, was a lawyer and a college professor. He went a long way to control the Pennsylvania insurance industry in favor of the consumers. Pennsylvania Governor Milton Shapp fired Denenberg at the behest of the insurance industry, which the Philadelphia ''Inquirer'' famously described as "The Greatest Political Backstabbing Since Caesar". He had also written for the ''Philadelphia Evening Bulletin'' and authored many books.
The Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia posthumously Dennenberg inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2010.〔()〕
